KHAO LAK BEACH

Khao Lak is a quiet seaside destination, located 80 kilometres from Phuket, in Thailand.  Khao Lak is well known for its world class diving sites, relaxed atmosphere, adventure enthusiasts and long beaches.  The major national highway 4 runs parallel to the coastline, with rubber and palm trees lining the roads. 

Khao Lak survives on tourism, being the most popular place in Thailand to start a diving trip.  Both Similan and Surin islands are easily reached from Khao Lak and they offer world renowned colourful marine life, vast coral gardens, wrecks and clear waters.  The Khaolack Lamru National Park is also a breathtaking place to visit and hike, with elephant treks and water rafting trips available too.  Khao Lak Beach is located adjacent to the National Park and offers a beautiful stretch of sand.  There is also the Chao Pho Khai Lak Shrine and the Ton Chong Fa waterfall, which are both worth a visit.
