LAMAI BEACH
Lamai Beach is on the east coast of Koh Samui and much smaller than the popular Chaweng Beach. The beach isn’t as long as Chaweng, its far less crowded and a lot cheaper than its counterpart. Lamai was the original top destination in Koh Samui and is set in a large and beautiful valley, bordered by verdant jungle, secluded bays, quaint villages, temples, spas, mummified monks and phallic rock formations all close by. Lamai is not only a tourist destination, but home to many Thais, their wooden houses, set on stilts are a must see as well. The Wat Khunaram temple is worth visiting and is home to two popular spas.
The nightlife in Lamai is definatley worth the effort, with many entertainment options. There are even weekly girls only Muay Thai boxing matches.
