NAI YANG BEACH

Nai Yang is just a five-minute drive south of the Phuket airport and is very popular with Thai locals. Here youll find what beach life is all about. Fringed with Casuarina trees providing picnic areas for locals, its a shady spot for souvenir and food vendors.  Laid back to the extreme, most people who stay here find absolute relaxation.

Parts of the beach are inside the Sirinath National Park, which also includes the reef at the north end of the beach. This prevents any development taking place and provides an unspoilt environment. There are several open sided pavilions to sit and take in the scenery.  There are food vendors gathered along the roadside, whom prepare all the classic Thai dishes, sweets, drinks and local fruits.  Further south is slightly more commercial and developed, bars and restaurants line the middle part of the beach.  Sea turtles are occasional nocturnal visitors, whom lay their eggs in the sand at night time.

Nai Yang is also used as a working beach, highly common with local fishermen.
