NATHON PIER

Nathon is located on the west of Koh Samui and is the islands main port.  As a result of the high influx of transportation and ferries, the beaches are not as beautiful as the ones on the east coast of the island.  A main draw card for Nathon is the amazing and cheap shopping, with some of the best prices on the island.  There is an open air market, selling everything from local produce to umbrellas, computer parts and stationary.

Nathon Town is Koh Samuis administrative and business centre, being the main place for banking, travel agencies and postal services.  There is an authentic town feel to the local village, with several old teak Chinese houses and cafes.  The ‘best mountain viewpoint’ as it is known, gives spectacular views of the town from the 467 metre high mountain.  If it isn’t overcast you can also view Phangan Island from this viewpoint.
